Easter - The Story God Finished

  • Peace Presbyterian Church 1521 Elms Road Flint, MI, 48532 United States (map)

Easter is the joyful proclamation at the heart of the Christian faith: Christ is risen.

After walking the Lenten road together—listening to Jesus’ parables and attending to the slow work of repentance and trust—we gather on Easter morning to hear the good news that death does not have the final word. The story Jesus told in word and deed, the story that led him to the cross, is not left unfinished. God raises Jesus from the dead, opening the way to new life for the whole creation.

On Easter Sunday, Peace Presbyterian Church celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ through Word, sacrament, prayer, and praise. We come as people who know the weight of grief and the longness of the road, and we are met by the astonishing announcement that God has acted decisively in love.

Easter declares that hope is not wishful thinking, grace is not exhausted, and no life is beyond God’s redeeming reach. The tomb is empty. Christ is alive. And the story God has been telling from the beginning continues—now marked by resurrection life.

All are welcome to join us as we rejoice in the promise of new creation.
